The believer’s daily living is founded on the reality of the Word of God. In it, he finds his identity and consequently his responsibilities as a child of God. We, God’s Children, have received a divine mandate to spread the gospel of Christ. Apostle Paul, says he is not ashamed of that mandate. Romans 1:16NKJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
There can be no salvation outside the gospel of Christ. That is, the ability of God to save is in the gospel only. 1st Timothy 2:4NKJV who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
This is God’s vision. He wants everyone saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. This vision is ours today to accomplish. The call is upon every one of us. We have received the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:18NKJV Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
A critical look at 1st Timothy 2:4, reveals that the plan of God for every man is twofold:
Mark 16:15-18NKJV And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Matthew 28:18-20NKJV And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
The gospel is the message of God’s grace; it demonstrates the love of God, and his actions through Christ Jesus to us. Romans 5:8NKJV But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
1st Corinthian 15:1-4NKJV Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
The message of grace is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for sin and it is received by faith. Ephesians 2:8NKJV For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
Salvation is through faith in the gospel, it requires no man’s work or effort, because it is the gift of God. Romans 10:8-10NKJV But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Salvation is to confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Christ from the dead. Roman 10:11-13NKJV For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Observe the phrase, “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”. It implies salvation is received by whosoever acknowledges the Lordship of Christ. When a man believes in his heart and confesses with his mouth, he is saved. There is no other requirement for a man to fulfil or other way to be saved. When a man receives the gift of salvation, he is called a believer.
Our mandate is to get everyone who has not believed the gospel to do so. We would use every possible means to accomplish this mission.
Soul winning requires patience on the part of the believer (the evangelist). It's common in a soul-winning campaign for discouragement to set in when there isn't immediate result. We often don't realise it’s the work of the Holy Spirit to convict and bring sinners to Christ, from start to finish in any soul winning campaign embarked on.
When we have absolute faith in Christ, and rest in the power of the Holy Spirit to do the impossible, the ‘Great Commission’ becomes an easy task to execute. This key fact provides the motivation and driving force for our ministry and the key reason we don’t relent. We take the task of the ‘Great Commission’ very seriously.
We are all God’s Ambassadors here on earth as believers. We all are commissioned by God to preach the Gospel. It’s our ministry. I mean everyone of us, no exception. If you’re reading this, you’re the first on the list. We need to get up and take up our assignment!
2Cor 5:19&20NKJV that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
We all have received the ministry of reconciliation. No more excuses. It is clear what our role is in the kingdom. We can’t but assume responsibility as obedient servants of God. We can’t let people perish in hell, we must go and rescue them. “It’s mission Possible”. We must go now!
We would be very glad to have you join our ministry in accomplishing God’s purpose for humanity on earth. We employ you to find out more about us, and see how we can support your church/ministry through evangelism outreaches.
Pray for the Vision; Join in the effort; Partner, Collaborate; Support!!! We’ll “preach the Word; be ready in season and out of season.
Matthew 24:14NKJV And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
